This atlas is a collection of maps created within the framework of various programs aiming to inventory Overseas wetlands. As these inventories were conducted independently from one area to another, the dates, typologies and mapping methods will vary.
In the long-run, this atlas aims to describe all Overseas wetlands – both coastal and inland – by broaching themes relating to natural and social science. The information provided in this atlas aim to introduce the sites’ main features, and is therefore non-exhaustive. A bibliography is available for each site, and all documents are referenced in the Resource Center’s documentary base.
This atlas is in no way an exhaustive inventory of all French Overseas wetlands, but intends to shed light on these ecosystems.
